the things that keep me making
my past life
ever since i was kid, i always knew i wanted to make stuff
as an art kid who also loved playing on the computer, i had always imagined graphic design being the perfect career for me. it wasn’t until i tried my hand at it that i realized it didn’t fulfill me in the ways i had hoped.
halfway through university, i stumbled onto product design and realized this was the dream job I didn't know existed. It felt like a nod to the 13-year-old version of me who was constantly advocating for spotify over apple music because it had ‘way better features,' and who was completely enamored by how club penguin could seamlessly bring an online community together.
it connected the dots between my childhood curiosities and my professional purpose. part of why design feels so fulfilling to me is that it shows up not only in my work but in every aspect of my life. It shows up in the way I aim to make my breakfast look visually appealing in the morning, the way I’m particular about the lighting in my room, and the way i would spend too much time perfecting my handwriting or selecting fonts for a powerpoint.
